Before I became a Massage Therapist, I worked in the fitness industry for a number of years. I learned that people suffer a lot from injuries due to overtraining, not stretching, bad technique and sometimes due to stress. If not corrected it can end up leading to the person(s) stopping any activities they were doing and can also lead to a more serious chronic pain which then requires medication. As much as exercise is good for the body and mind and also a good healthy balanced diet, I truly believe the benefits of a Massage also help with muscle recovery and stress from your day to day activity and overall it is an hour to switch off from the world and look after yourself.  

My journey began 4 years ago when I first became a qualified Holistic Massage Therapist. Since then I have gained other qualifications such as Sports Orthopaedic Massage, I also do Indian Head Massage. 

Since I started working in River Holistic in Raheny, Dublin 5 I had the opportunity to use all the learned skills to help my clients achieve their goals.  

Holistic massage is great to relax the mind and body, but I really like using more advanced techniques to release myofascial restrictions, restore normal resting tone, re-establish joint mobility and treat chronic injuries to improve the well being of my clients. I truly believe massage is not a quick fix but the treatment leaves the window of opportunities to improve the functionality of muscle and joints.  

I do have a holistic approach to life, I believe that stress is the worst factor that affects our mental health, and ability to perform in every aspect of our lives. Massage is definitely one of the tools we can use to improve the way we feel and take care of our body well being.
